James Durbin’s American Idol journey ends as he got voted off the competition during the Results Night on Thursday, May 12 (Friday, May 13 Philippine Standard Time).
Each of the Top 4 finalists was tasked to sing one song that inspires and one rendition out of the Leiber and Stoller Songbook last Wednesday’s Performance Night, where international pop superstar Lady Gaga served as their mentor.
James Durbin performed “Don’t Stop Believin” (Journey)/“Love Potion No. 9” (The Clovers); Haley Reinhart did “Earth Song” (Michael Jackson)/“I (Who Have Nothing)” (Ben E. King); Scotty McCreery sang “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” (Alan Jackson)/“Young Blood” (The Coasters), and Lauren Alaina performed “Anyway” (Martina McBride)/“Trouble” (Elvis Presley).
In the group performance, Scotty McCreery and James Durbin performed “Start a Band” (Brad Paisley & Keith Urban) while Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart sang “Gunpowder and Lead” (Miranda Lambert) together.
James Durbin places 4th in American Idol Season 10.
